Dean Recoules studied interior architecture at KASK in Ghent. After his studies he started painting, took evening courses, and went to several studios abroad in Spain and France. In the South of France he was much fascinated by the soft colours. Although he worked as an interior designer he leaned more towards painting. In his showroom in Bruges, his paintings that he exposed kept his clients attentions. He was driven to paint even more. He uses lot of textures, raw materials and colours. He's much inspired by Rothko and Tapies. He's work is abstract, textured, often with recycled textiles, canvas, paper or craft. He's works is timeless and strong, abstract and a pleasure to have in your interior.
